The Place Making and Regeneration Officer will lead on the delivery of the strategic objectives of the Council relating to regeneration and place making incorporating collaborative approaches to designing better places with our local businesses and communities in terms of land, economic sites and transportation. This role will develop a comprehensive understanding of current and forecasted service delivery across the service against the strategic place making ambitions for South Ayrshire Council.
The officer will lead on the development of feasibility work, detailed planning and building partnerships with stakeholders, private and public sector partners. The role will be expected to contribute to the revitalisation of South Ayrshire’s towns and villages, with a focus on re-imagining key town centres to:
- attract investment and act as catalysts for economic rejuvenation; and
- support community wealth building.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- contributing to drafting Place-based Strategies by providing placemaking, urban design and regeneration support;
- undertaking design-led site analysis, including capacity and feasibility studies, to deliver transformational economic change, particularly in regard to contributing to funding applications and development opportunities on council-owned land.

The Grade for this post is Grade 3 / Level 10, the hourly rate is £22.30 to £21.57 and the annual salary is £37,047 – £39,365.
