Sustrans would like to invite people working in Community Organisations to apply for their new peer mentor programme – Activate Mentoring.
Activate mentoring is an opportunity for those groups already doing fantastic work encouraging their local community to walk, wheel and cycle to share their knowledge with other organisations.
Mentors will receive training from the Scottish Mentoring Network, and a continuing professional development certificate. In addition there will be regular knowledge sharing events with other mentors providing opportunities to network.
Mentees will receive support and guidance from their mentor to develop or expand on an activity they want to do in their community.
All participants are also invited to join the Active Travel Hub Network, which provides a range of resources and events to support them to get people moving actively.
Applications are now open for both mentors and mentees. Find out more on the active travel hub network website, and apply now using the links below.
Sustrans will pay expenses for mentoring meetings and can also arrange other types of training (such as fundraising, project management, or cycle trainer certification) as part of the programme if a need is identified during the mentor process.
The first round of mentor training will take place on the 23rd June and 12th July (participants need to attend both sessions, with a short online learning module in between). Following this Sustrans will match mentors with a mentee. If you have a great project, and want to share your learning with others, sign up now at the link above.
