Glasgow City Council has been awarded an allocation from Scottish Government’s Place Fund. This is the second of five annual allocations from this Fund, and Council is inviting applications for funding for projects in 2022/23.
The Place Fund (TPF) is now open for applications for capital projects which address one or more of these themes:
- Transformational town centre works;
- 20-Minute Neighbourhoods/Liveable Neighbourhoods;
- Food inclusion.
Alongside this, the fund seeks to support community wealth building, promote wellbeing and inclusive economic development, and support projects that help achieve carbon net zero.
The programme is for all areas of the city, but is primarily focused on key themes around 20-minute neighbourhoods and transformational town centres, and prioritised towards those in deprived areas.

Grant must be spent or contractually committed by 31 March 2023, and projects that can be on site before this date will be prioritised. Projects which are currently underway will be considered.
Applicants must complete and submit the attached application form, which also provides further details on application and project requirements. These include meeting one or more of the key themes; evidence of community support and involvement; and alignment with Council’s relevant strategic plans.
Applicants MUST be able to demonstrate ownership (or approval of owners) of the location proposed for investment.
2021/22 applicants are welcome to re-submit, though it will be expected that applicants can demonstrate progress since their previous application.
The deadline for applications for 2022/23 is 12noon on Friday 30th September 2022. Applicants can expect to be notified of the outcome by mid-October, though recommended funding awards will be subject to GCC committee confirmation.
