COSLA Conference Centre, Edinburgh
This seminar examined how those involved in regeneration and inclusion across disadvantaged communities can engage with young people so as to allow them to be able to ‘get on in life’. In doing it looked at innovative methods of engagement; ways in which this engagement can be used to provide tangible benefits to young people; and ways in which engaged young people can influence the services which they come into contact with. Although focusing on workshops looking at practical ways of working with and for young people through local projects, the event will also look at how such work is being dealt with at wider levels. It will therefore look at the approach being taken by the Scottish Executive and innovative working at local authority level.
