Post: Policy and Parliamentary Officer (PPO21)
Salary: £30,814 per annum (pro rata), plus 6% pension, 28 hours per week, 12 months (with likely extension)
The Poverty Alliance are looking for an experienced Policy and Parliamentary Officer who can help us advocate for policies that will make a real difference to poverty in Scotland.
The post will be responsible for supporting the development of our policy positions across a range of poverty related areas, from employment and social security to participation and public services. They are looking for someone who can build relationships with politicians and policy makers and build support for the changes we want to see.
The successful candidate will join the Alliance’s policy and campaigns team and will provide policy input across our activity. They will have experience of working on a policy or public affairs on social justice issues at the national level. They will also have great policy analysis skills and communication skills, and will have used these skills to advocate for change. Experience of working alongside people with experience of poverty, and with grassroots civil society organisations will be an advantage.
