Toonspeak are on a mission to transform lives through creativity. Toonspeak provides opportunities for children and young people aged 0–25-year-olds.
Recognised as forerunners in youth leadership and inclusive governance, Toonspeak are a proudly Young Person Led organisation who are celebrated for their commitment to equality, and their person-centred approach. Toonspeak’s activities include theatre, music, writing, technical production, arts and crafts, creative careers coaching, and events production. All activities are provided at zero cost, with free transport and food provided where needed to meet their commitment to absolute equality of access. Working in areas of multiple deprivation, and supporting young people who face additional challenges, the aim of their activities is to enable young people to realise their potential, becoming leaders and beneficiaries of the arts, as practitioners, participants and audience members.
Rooted in communities across the North of Glasgow, and working with a network of partners, Toonspeak are community-focused whilst global in our outlook, seeking to develop a model of excellence to influence peers across sectors throughout Scotland and beyond, with young people playing a leading role in that vision. The organisation are looking to expand their Board, and are recruiting a:
- Board Chair
- Trustees (x2)
The incoming Chair will have a passion and broad understanding of the arts and theatre sector as well as experience of charitable governance. Toonspeak are looking for Trustees with experience in fundraising, HR, third sector and arts and theatre.
