Historic Environment Scotland, the public body formed by a 2015 merger between Historic Scotland and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Scotland, is currently seeking volunteers for several events and attractions, including:
- The Rock of Ages, a historically themed activities programme at Dumbarton Castle on the 4 & 5 June
- Spectacular Jousting at Linlithgow Palace on the 2 & 3 July
- Craft Skills Festival at Craigmillar Castle on 27 August
- Regular tour guides at Dryburgh Abbey
- Tour guides and pianists at Duff House
- Volunteer gardeners at Blackness Castle
The agency is also seeking volunteers for its ranger service, collections cataloguing, the Stirling Engine Shed conservation hub and the Scotland’s Urban Past website project.
