Our GameChanger Lunch Club runs every week on Mondays at 12:30pm-2pm. It is held in Easter Road Stadium, West Stand on Albion Road, entrance opposite Norton Park.
The lunch is a drop in, people can simply just turn up, although if you have any allergies or dietary requirements it is useful to know these in advance. We provide a nutritious homemade 2 course lunch, plus there is often extras to take home free of charge, such as prepared meals and raw ingredients. We often run entertainment alongside our lunches, such as: singers, quizzes, bingo, games, Nordic walking etc.
The Lunch Club is free to attend and open to all. Our main aim is to target those older adults who are experiencing loneliness/social isolation. We aim to bring the community together and ensure everyone has something to eat and someone to eat with. For the lunches we source the majority of our ingredients from FareShare, which provides good quality surplus food therefore helping to prevent food waste.
Our Lunch Club is mainly run by volunteers. The Lunch is run in partnership with Hibernian Community Foundation. We have some special events coming up at our Lunch Club:
- Monday 10th October – Mindful Monday. On World Mental Health day, we plan to hold a special event during our GameChanger Lunch Club where everyone attending will receive a wellbeing goodie bag which will be filled with useful information and items to boost health and wellbeing. We will serve a special 3-course lunch which will contain mood-boosting ingredients. Between courses we will have a mindfulness/meditation talk. After the lunch has been held we plan to run a taster Nordic Walking session around the pitch to get people moving.
- Monday 14th November (11am-2pm) – Baffies & Blankets. Everyone attending this extended Lunch Club session will have the opportunity to have their feet measured by a podiatrist to receive a free pair of slippers. Free blankets will also be on offer. Singer Terry Weston will be performing and a range of services will be present to provide useful information to help keep you safe this winter.
