SURF is working closely with Resilient Scotland Ltd, the body responsible for distributing the £15m JESSICA (Scotland) Trust to support community regeneration efforts in some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged communities.Resilient Scotland

SURF’s role involves:

  1. Establishing a learning network of  JESSICA (Scotland) Trust stakeholders with a view to sharing and developing practice around community led regeneration and social investment;
  2. Showcasing and exploring key issues emerging from the Trust’s experience with a view to informing wider stakeholders and policy influencers;
  3. Supporting Trust evaluation activity to inform the design and delivery of associated learning initiatives.

Resilient Scotland Ltd is in the process of expanding its staff team and is currently advertising the following two vacancies:

Investment Manager

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow
Hours: 21 hours per week
Salary: £36,846 pro-rata

Overview: “We are looking for an Investment Manager to lead on the development of potential business and the appraisal of loan applications. You will be responsible for managing the entire portfolio of investments made by Resilient Scotland. A key area of responsibility will be to make investment recommendations to decision-making panels, outlining the associated risks and social impact.”

Community Engagement Executive

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £28,488

Overview: “The Community Engagement Executive will develop and implement a portfolio of community based investment and development support activity for Resilient Scotland Ltd. You will also be responsible for delivering a range of community engagement work with Foundation Scotland’s Community Engagement team, whose main focus is to design and deliver community benefit funds linked to commercial wind farms.”
