The SNP’s 2011 manifesto made a commitment to update the legislation relating to allotments in Scotland. Although last year’s Community Empowerment and Renewal Bill consultation sought views on whether allotments legislation needed to be changed, a separate consultation has now been launched. Its purpose is further explore the ways in which the legislation relating to allotments may be amended.

This consultation – The Legislative Framework Governing Allotments – is taking place over a six week period, closing on Friday 24th May. The relevant documents, including a response form, are available via the Scottish Government website link at the bottom of the page.
