This event was held as part of SURF’s drive to further promote best practice. It was based around SURF awards winners from 2001 and provided examples of best practice in improving a place through regeneration; involving communities and people in regeneration strategies and processes; innovation in regeneration practice; using the arts for regeneration and/ or breaking down barriers to social inclusion; promoting action aimed at achieving the Scottish Executive’s social justice targets; involving business in regeneration work.
Projects featured included Paisley Partnership Early Action Fund and Crime and Safety Action Fund; the Slateford Green development; Govanhill Social Inclusion Project; the St Rollox Initiative, the Dundee Employment and Aftercare Project and the Hop Skip and Jump Project.
