The Poverty Alliance are currently advertising for two posts. 

Post: Administrative Assistant (AA21)

Salary: £22,409 per annum pro rata plus 6% pension, 21 hours per week, (until September 2024)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join the Poverty Alliance’s small and fast-moving Administration team.

The post will be responsible for providing administrative support, primarily to our Rights in Action project team, but also across our busy organisation. This will include a wide range of administrative tasks, such as arranging meetings, managing and responding to queries, and day-to-day administrative support to the project team.

We are looking for candidates with a sound understanding of the administrative operations needed in small business. In addition to the necessary technical skills, the role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and an enthusiasm for working as part of a team as well as autonomously.

Post: Campaigns Officer 

Salary: £31,431 pro rata per annum, 21 hours per week, plus 6% pension

Duration: One year, with likelihood of extension

We are looking for a Campaigns Officer who is able to help us design and implement campaigns that bring people together to call for action we need to solve poverty in Scotland.

This post will be responsible for helping to increase the visibility and impact of the Poverty Alliance’s key campaigning activities. We are looking for someone who can support our members and community organisations to help shape and participate in our campaigns, and who can act as an effective communicator to key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will join the Poverty Alliance’s Policy and Campaigns. They will have experience of working in campaigns at a local or national level, as well as a knowledge and understanding of poverty-related issues in Scotland and across the UK.  They will have experience of communicating complex social justice issues to diverse audiences. Ideally, they will have a demonstrable knowledge of the third sector and broader civil society in Scotland, with an understanding of how to develop and build campaign coalitions.
