The Welsh Government’s Minister for Housing, Regeneration & Heritage, Huw Lewis AM, this week launched a new national regeneration framework, Vibrant and Viable Places.

The new framework details plans for three broad sets of priority regeneration investment communities:

  • Town centres
  • Coastal communities
  • Areas of deprivation identified in the ‘Communities First’ programme

The framework also has a particular focus on heritage and outlines approaches to improve cross-sector partnership working in regeneration across the country.

Please visit the Welsh Government’s web site to view the framework document (PDF format).

The Scottish Government’s December 2011 National Regeneration Strategy, which shares a number of similarities with the Welsh framework, is meantime available here.
