Linthouse Housing Association is a Registered Social Landlord that owns and manages homes for rent in Linthouse, Drumoyne and Langlands.

As a community based RSL, Linthouse HA has always been committed to ensuring the provision of housing stock but also aims to support the wider needs of their tenants, particularly during the cost of living crisis that is affecting so many people.

For that reason, the Association offers a variety of additional services, both in-house and in partnership, which helps put money in people’s pockets and hopefully makes their money go further:

Welfare Rights Service

LHA has an in-house welfare rights’ service that offers support on a wide variety of issues including benefits checks, applications, reviews and appeals.

They also identify and apply for grants/other sources of funding for tenants when needed and they signpost to other agencies for any additional support.

Energy Advice

LHA has an energy saving project that is provided in partnership with Govan and Elderpark Housing Associations and there is a dedicated Fuel Advisor in each association.

The Fuel Advisor provides support with all aspects of people’s utilities as well as accessing top-up vouchers and funding for individuals who are struggling with the cost of fuel.

Food Support Projects

LHA is delighted to be working with Trussell Trust and Good Food Scotland to bring 2 food projects to Linthouse – a food bank distribution point and a community larder.

Glasgow South West Food Bank – the Trussell Trust have weekly distribution points across South West Glasgow and LHA’s office is the new venue for the Govan and Linthouse area.

The food bank previously had a distribution point in Linthouse but, unfortunately, outgrew it so it’s been great to see them back in the area and it means that local residents don’t have so far to travel if they’ve been referred.

Linthouse Community Larder – Good Food Scotland have brought their mobile larder to LHA’s offices.  The larder stocks similar items to the average grocery shop but at a fraction of the price and there is no limit to what customers can buy.

Just now the larder is open on a Thursday, 10am-1pm, but eventually we hope to have a static larder that will be open 2-3 days a week.

New Funding

In addition to these current services, LHA has also been awarded the EVH Cost of Living Grant and a Cost of Living – Community Anchor Grant.

These grants will be distributed to Linthouse tenants and residents who are identified as in need to help them purchase items they require in this current crisis.

LHA hopes to work closely with other local organisations to make sure that the community anchor funding reaches as many people as possible.
