The Town Centre Action Plan was produced in 2013
SURF Chief Executive Andy Milne was a member of the External Advisory Group for the Scottish Government’s 2012-13 National Review of Town Centres.
The Advisory Group, led by leading architect Malcolm Fraser, produced a recommendations report that the Scottish Government responded to by producing a Town Centre Action Plan.
The Scottish Government is continuing to develop projects and policy initiatives as part of this Action Plan. This includes the launch, this week, of a new £1.7m Town Centre Communities Capital Fund.
The fund is designed to support enterprising, community-led projects that help to deliver local town centre regeneration priorities. Community organisations are invited to bid for pots of capital funding (between £20k and £150k) to support projects that are in line with the key themes set out in the Action Plan.
